CRC 3" Long Body Post Set
Bought these for both of my TT-02 chassis after reading about bumper-mounted body posts online. The article I was reading actually recommended using TA-04/TB-Evo parts which are not only expensive but you’re going to have extra parts that you really won’t need. I figured I’d look at AMain for a suitable alternative. Even if the holes were off, I’d figured I would find a solution to make the body sit level.

Just received my order today and I have to say… I’m glad the gamble had paid off because the post holes are aligned perfectly with the Tamiya damper stay mounted posts! They are a little thinner than the Tamiya version (5mm versus 6mm with Tamiya) but you’ll have ZERO issue using these on any Tamiya chassis including the aforementioned TA04 and TB-Evo but also the expensive TRF on-road chassis too! Best part: these were the cheapest body posts I could find at AMain! $3 a set AND they work for Tamiya! HOW WERE THESE STILL IN STOCK WHEN THEY WORK SO GOOD?!!! Lol

All in all, I’m VERY happy with these! Yes again, they are thinner than the standard Tamiya by about 1mm BUT the adjustment holes are bored large enough that 6mm long body clips will work easily. I think mine are 7mm long and designed for the battery plate but I could be wrong. Point is that they worked with those easily but your mileage may vary.

One major drawback to these is that they aren’t meant for bodies that have already been drilled out to accept the standard 6mm Tamiya body posts and if you have, you will have to get creative in keeping the body from moving around these posts at speed because these are thinner. The good thing is that these posts come with a locking adjustment collar that can help alleviate that issue though if you have a finished body that you’re looking to modify to accept these posts. If you’re building a new, unpainted and non-drilled body, you will have a much better chance of getting a tighter fit because you can drill/ream the body to fit the smaller diameter posts.

In closing, if you’re looking to upgrade to bumper-mounted body posts for your TT-01/TT-02 and can’t justify spending the money for the TB-Evo parts tree, get these instead. You’ll be glad you did!

EDIT: Apparently, the set/grub screws used to hold the fine adjusters in place are IMPERIAL/SAE! I thought they were metric but my wrench wouldn’t fit in the head because… it’s not metric.

EDIT #2: These posts, while great in their own right, may not give you very much adjustment for body height if running a low CG body. These worked well with my Tamiya Mazda 3, Subaru XV and Mustang GT4 bodies with no issue. However, when used on my Honda NSX GT 2005 Lightweight body, the posts did NOT allow the front of the body to come down low enough to get the cars stance just right.
