The Castle Creations Mamba Monster X 8S ESC/Motor Combo with 1520-1650Kv Sensored Motor is a great way to add some of Castle's secret sauce to your build. This motor and ESC combo is designed for 1/6, 1/7 and 1/8 scale vehicles running up to 8S batteries and weighing up to 18 lbs. The 1520-1650Kv has all of the same features as its big brother 1717-1650Kv has, but in a more compact diameter. This allows use in a wider variety of models, without modifications to your chassis.
The MAMBA MONSTER X 8S utilizes Castle’s breakthrough technology, CRYO-DRIVE. By reducing the rate at which the ESC heats up and removing heat more efficiently, your setup will be able to handle higher gear ratios, in heavier vehicles, with longer runs. These software advancements work in parallel with a unique open housing design to allow increased directional airflow to cool critical components. - Recommended battery capacity for 1:6th scale vehicles is 5000mah. Castle recommends using 50C continuous discharge or higher LiPo batteries.
- Surge ratings should never be used to determine a pack’s suitability for a brushless application.
- Castle recommends a high current connector designed for high-powered electric systems, rated for 100+ amps, such as Castle CC Bullet 6.5mm, CC Bullet 8.0mm, or 6.5mm Polarized Castle Connectors.
- Applying voltages higher than 33.6V will cause irreparable damage to ESC.
- Although Mamba Monster X 8S is waterproof, it is NOT intended for operation while completely submerged in liquid. Always rinse the ESC with clean water after exposure to corrosives or dirt.
- The cooling fan must be removed prior to driving in wet conditions. *Fan is not waterproof.
- Monitor motor temperatures closely; overheating a motor will cause permanent damage to the magnets. Never exceed 180° F on the motor or ESC.
- The 1520-1650Kv is a water resistant design. The sensor board is coated with silicone conformal coating to protect the sensors from moisture. The sensor connections are not water resistant; water can cause signal loss which could result in loss of sensored capabilities. Castle recommends applying dielectric grease to the outside of the sensor wire connections after installation of the wire. Routine maintenance is recommended after running in wet conditions.
