The Axial SCX10 III "Jeep JT Gladiator" RTR 4WD Rock Crawler marks the next step forward in ready-to-run, scale off-road action. While continuing to incorporate key components that have made SCX10 vehicles successful, the SCX10 III chassis increases realism with details that include a replica V8 engine to house the front-mounted 540 brushed motor, mated to a realistic transmission housing and transfer case like a 1:1 vehicle. The Spektrum DX3 3-channel 2.4GHz DSMR transmitter and Firma 40A ESC/receiver are also ready to give you the advantages of innovative Spektrum Smart technology.

Out of the box, the SCX10 III Jeep JT Gladiator transmission offers a third-channel DIG function that lets you lock the rear axle from the transmitter for front wheel drive and a tighter turning radius. Though locked out from the factory, you can set up the vehicle to have a 40% faster second gear instead of DIG — or, by adding another micro servo and using a radio with at least four channels (such as the 5-channel Spektrum DX5), have simultaneous access to both the DIG and two-speed functions.

The SCX10 III Jeep JT Gladiator uses AR45 portal axles to improve performance by increasing the ground clearance and reducing torque twist. The motor is located at the front of the chassis for forward weight. The standard battery tray is positioned near the vehicle's center for improved balance and accepts full-size LiPo or NiMH packs. There are also locations in the side pods for drivers who prefer smaller "shorty" LiPo packs. Inner fenders and floor sides hide internal components that would usually be visible from the side of the chassis.

Topping off the chassis is a scale Jeep JT Gladiator body that mirrors its full-size counterpart with many highly authentic details. The body has over 20 injection-molded parts including a bed rack, door handles, mirrors, hood vents and more — taking polycarbonate body realism to the next level. The body has been split into three pieces for a more realistic deep bed. Officially licensed Nitto Trail Grappler tires on 3-piece beadlock wheels add more scale realism and more grip on dirt, rocks, and all other off-road trails.

With the Spektrum DX3 radio, you'll enjoy the superior range, response, and interference resistance of DSMR technology. Together with the installed Firma Smart 40A ESC/receiver, it also offers the advantages of exclusive Spektrum Smart technology. Install a Spektrum Smart LiPo battery and you can view vehicle battery capacity at a glance on the DX3 transmitter voltage level indicator. Outfit the DX3 with the optional BT2000 Bluetooth module and download the free Spektrum Dashboard app to your smart device, and you're also ready to use Smart real-time telemetry — without needing on-board sensors or modules.

Features:
  • Replica V8 engine cover, transmission housing and transfer case cover and protect the motor while improving scale appearance and adding forward-mounted weight.
  • DIG function transmission option lets you lock the rear axle from the transmitter for front wheel drive and a tighter turning radius.
  • Two-speed transmission option (some assembly required) allows you to increase vehicle speed by approximately 40%.
  • Drivers can choose between the DIG and 2-speed transmission options, or run both with a 4-channel transmitter and two servos (not included).
  • AR45 Portal Axles feature an offset front housing for realistic looks.
  • Axle housings also use portal gears for increased ground clearance and a universal that provides 45 degrees of steering.
  • Differential locker features Hypoid gears, allowing for smaller size gears, improved gear reduction and reduced torque twist.
  • Authentic Jeep® JT Gladiator body includes over 20 injection-molded parts including bed rack, door handles, mirrors, hood vents and more.
  • Three-piece body provides a more realistic deep bed.
  • New centered battery position improves chassis balance with front-mounted motor.
  • Chassis side pods offer mounting locations for smaller LiPo batteries, if desired.
  • Hard anodized oil-filled shocks feature shock cap with bleed screw for easier rebuilds.
  • All drive train components in the transmission, portals and axle gears are metal for extreme durability — with pinion gear included, the vehicle has 23 metal gears in total.
  • Improved materials increase durability and stiffness while holding tighter tolerances to eliminate most "slop".
  • Metal stainless steel pivot balls at all suspension points increase durability and wear life for consistent handling.
  • Improved suspension geometry further reduces torque twist while allowing chassis fine-tuning.
  • Extended 13.9 inch wheelbase with longer frame rails and chassis supports a more realistic version of the Jeep® JT Gladiator body.
  • Detailed interior with molded driver adds to the vehicle's realistic scale looks.
  • New rear body mounts simplify body removal.
  • Injection-molded inner fenders hide internal components usually visible from the side of the chassis.
  • Spektrum™ DX3™ DSMR® radio is fully compatible with the Smart telemetry potential of the installed Firma™ Smart 40A ESC/receiver.
  • Included Spektrum™ 15kg metal gear servo and all electronics are protected by a waterproof design for confident driving in any weather and trail conditions.

I own several Axials. This is a great looking truck! Unfortunately, within the first 10 minutes of my maiden run, the micro dig servo started smoking and melted...That’s why I buy hobby grade trucks, they can be fixed...but quality is a bit disappointing on this one...

Axial SCX10 III "Jeep JT Gladiator" RTR 4WD Rock Crawler (Grey)
I tested the rig in the parking lot before going in the woods to hit the trails and hill climbs and all the features worked. Got out into the woods and the dig servo melted the case, unplugged the servo lead and the truck work just fine after that. kinda wish the drag brake was set at 100% out of the box, not a deal breaker. More testing to come once the dig servo is replaced.

I worked with customer support and they were very helpful on getting me a replacement servo for the dig.

Edit 1
From what i have learned Axial has been having a problem with the servos across the board. As long as you have the receipt for the micro servo they will replace it. That is another reason they have been hard to buy as of late.

Edit 2
after about 4 hours of hard trailing/crawling the slipper clutch started to come lose, and the replacement dig servo stopped working again. it didnt melt the plastic housing this time but the servo is no longer working.

I like this truck alot. I use savox micro servos for dig and two speed. They work good and setup is smooth. Set end points and take you're time setting up.I use 1080 esc with Holmes 35t. 1283 savox for steering. I use it mainly for trails. Spektrum electronics were doing fine and I used them in a different truck.

Axial SCX10 III "Jeep JT Gladiator" RTR 4WD Rock Crawler (Grey)
Good truck over all. Strong stock motor and ecs, for what it is. But the weakest point will definitely be the dig servo, brunt out within the first 30 minutes of the first day owning it. Was able to get a replacement servo from horizon but that motor was not responding at all out of the packaging. So I currently have no dig option and that was a selling point for me. Also the bed liner separated form the body after one flip. The bed is a by very weak point of the structure, and that is where the body mounts are located for the rear.

Love the truck, only drawback is you would think for the price you could have gotten the shift and dig servo. Hell even Traxxas gives you the everything and it costs less. But I love the Gladiator and in the process of printing up some optional stuff for it.

Axial SCX10 III "Jeep JT Gladiator" RTR 4WD Rock Crawler (Grey)
Real nice RTR. I have had a few Axial's and this is the nicest. Well detailed body looks super good, but of course with a few roll overs on the rocks, the scratches come.
The tires are the limiting factor, but that is true of any RTR. Climbs good now but with a tire change it should be tops.
Shocks are super smooth. Electronics work smooth also at crawling speeds. Turns pretty tight also.
I hope to overdrive the front and put a spare set of sticky wheels/tires I have and call it good.
Great trail truck, nice clearance with the portals, articulates very nice, and worth the money IMO. No regrets!

Axial SCX10 III "Jeep JT Gladiator" RTR 4WD Rock Crawler (Grey)
This axial is pretty they put a lot of upgraded parts, the only thing that kept me from giving it a 5 star is that the body quality is not really good even though they made a really good detailed body other than that it’s nice

Axial SCX10 III "Jeep JT Gladiator" RTR 4WD Rock Crawler (Grey)
Great ready to run RC with a few lacking features. Dig servo will sometimes not disengage and will burn out your motor. Contacted Horizon about warranty because it was only 2 week old. The new replacement ESC/receiver comb will not keep bind with transmitter, headache. Tires are not soft enough to get good grip and plastic rims look cheap. Bought replacement wheels and tires for around $100 and they work million times better. Once I get the bind problem fixed I can get back to the trails. Everyone needs rock therapy in their lives.

Axial SCX10 III "Jeep JT Gladiator" RTR 4WD Rock Crawler (Grey)
I have purchased multiple SCX10 II and no less than 6 TRX4, with this being considered i have to say i am rather disappointed with the SCX10 III. Price point is extremely high for the quality of the product. With Axials deal with spektrum you are left with spektrum quality electronics. Servos are garbage, plain and simple. From their look and feel to physical performance, you will be let down on anything. When it comes to the ESC/Receiver combo, I haven't run this due to spektrums history of making poor performing products. I have swapped in an 2700 KV HW motor with a AXE ESC. Additionally, i have added a Savox Monster steering servo and have tried multiple different solutions for the shifting setup to be let down time and time again. even with over $350 of electronics upgrades i am left at a disappointed view at this model. Axial continues having difficulty with suspension geometry and as with all of the SCX10 II's the front axle still travels a considerable amount left and right with suspension travel. With this model costing over $500 (plus an additional spektrum battery of approx. $100) I am severely disappointed in the overall performance of the SCX10 III. I have had to bevel the gears in the transmission (Similar to the SCX10 II two speed kit) in order to get reliable shifts even while in motion. All I see in the SCX10 III is a companies dying effort at keeping up with the competition. Spend your $600 on a model that doesn't come out of the box with issues.

Stock tires are firm and slippery. Dig servos are trash
