Axial SCX10 III Base Camp - 1/10 Rock Crawler Builders Kit

The Axial SCX10 III Base Camp 1/10 4WD Scale Rock Crawler Builders Kit is a great option for the scale trail enthusiast. The Base Camp was introduced in 2022 and was designed to be a cost-conscious crawler that can be built for both performance and scale realism. This "Builders Kit" allows you to build the kit yourself and give you a deeper understanding of the mechanics of your kit. Choose your electronics and body and get out to the trails!

Better still, the Base Camp Kit isn't just an unassembled version of the Axial RTR rig. It's an improved Base Camp. The transmission can be externally locked in standard 4WD, but it also has an optional, servo-actuated dig feature. Robust 6mm stainless steel links are included, as well as Standard AR45 straight axles. If you prefer portal axles, the LCXU transmission makes it easy to switch. The Axial SCX10 III Base Camp Builder's Kit give you the perfect foundation for your adventuring

Straight Axle everyone!
I was wanting to get my daughter's(21) first kit together.
So I was rushing through adding fun hop ups, and getting a charger, a radio, batteries, etc. And not once did I read the description and learn this was a straight axle kit. I mean every single other Basecamp is portal and the Jeep JLU kit I bought 4 months ago was a portal kit. That JLU kit is good and why I wanted to get a 2nd kit for my daughter. Little did I know that JLU kit was discontinued...and only this straight axle kit was the only option.

So then hours and days spent learning what parts are different so that I can get a portal truck for her too build. What a frustrating situation....Where is the portal kit option Axial?

So far this kit is fine and assembles well as expected, but it should be a portal kit....just like ALL other 10.3 options.

It's a very versatile chassis. It can be adjusted to various heights by changing the shock lengths.

Great kit. Had a blast over the long weekend building it. Only recommendation I have is get a set of lighter springs if your not adding any scale accessories or brass. Other than that it's great may even be better then my scx10iii gladiator.
