good and fast motor with a JP-2 have 6 or 7 gallons of JAC 20% and made it a boxstart motor.
For the price, I cant see why anyone would have a complaint about this engine. I dont think it makes any sense to compare this engine to a high end, big dollar racing engine and say thats its a bad engine, this engine was never intended to compete with mega dollar race engines. I challenge anyone to find an engine that makes this much power and torque for the price, not gonna happen. Great engine, great price.
This is a HOT little mill, use a bump start if you can after 6 break in tanks, Tacked @ 23.1 RPM, @ half throtel med cold plug and 30% Byrons @ 167 temp. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS ENGINE!! if you have more than 3 gal in it chg your con rod, B4 it blows.
POOR POOR ENGINES ONLY GOT 7-8 TANKS THROUGH. THEN BROKE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED WITH THE 28RR THAT GOT 6 TANKS ON THE TRACK.I HAD PLENTY OF ENGINES AND THESE ARE POOR QUALITY BUT GOOD PERFORMANCE.
with a good pipe this engine rocks. Now I put this in my rtr jammin and came in third in the a main I think with the JP-2 pipe this thing woulld kill
This motor mad some amazing power while it lasted maybe it was just me but it only lasted 4 gallons or so. I can complan I only payed $40 so know big deal. -//- I bought this motor off of a friend for $40 he had just rebuilt the motor and I must stay this is the best you can get for $100. I love it, it has tons torque and the top end is not to bad at all. This will make a great practice motor or a club racing motor.
decent motor for the price- I use it to race but won't last more than 6 or 7 gallons screaming it like i do .
I run this baby hot to squeeze the power out I need to compete. So cheap just change it every 6 months whether it needs it or not :-)
i run this in a monster gt and i lov it! i pop and ride wheelies with this baby and i havent touched the low speed needle yet! awesome -//- This engine smokes every other engine there is out there, i was whooping guys asses with ported and polished rbs at my local track with my monster gt, i was in shock! run 25% byrons, excellent fuel, the only thing i dont understand it the hand needle adjuster witht the high speed needle, excellent engine highly recommened
im glad someone recomends something not super expensive. over here in south america, our currency does not hold well to the usd so we have to go cheap. some guys hear have the vspec but some others dont have that money and wonder what to buy all the time. recomend pls.
I've had two of these engines the first one was destroyed when the buggy I was running had a radio failure and crashed into a curb and caught on fire and shattered the piston. the second one I had more luck with. I put it in my jammin buggy it was a rocket ship. this combination is not recommended for racing but is a lot of fun to bash with.
Samuel Brock, I have this engine and currently have the .32 in my Revo 3.3. Both engine idles smoothly, the response is great. Its easy to tune and holds it. the power output is outstanding. I've had a few different engines from Rb to Sirio and this mill has the most bang for the buck. Its a very good engine. on another note gotta make sure your tranny is full of steel or you'll have whats left of the plastic gears. Also this mill will either give you a extremely fast truck or an uncontrollable one.
Hey Jeff you get what you pay for, cheap motor, cheap thrills, try spending a little more money for a good motor like Picco,GRP or OS, or just stay in the titty bar that might be a better choice away.Drinks on me.
I have ran 5 of these mills as well as the .32.
Never had a problem. Break-in is easy and are veary ease to tune. They produce great power and are inexpensive. A great motor for monster trucks, buggys and truggys alike.
Also great for mills on a budget. I am running one now in an OFNA GTP and it is sick fast.
I am a true belever in Axial motors. No where will you find a better motor for this price.
To Samuel Brock
ooo my friend why you are heater of the cheap engines?? some guys have not money for the ''good'' engines such as nova ,sirio, werks and other why you push all to buy the high pricey engines?? In my kyosho st-r i have a lrp z28r and i have a lot of won in races and i laugh with nova, sirio, werks, picco guys who look with big eyes my lrp! lol! anyway guys continue to buy SH Engines such as LRP,DYNAMITE,NOSRAM,SPORTWERKS,LOSI for beggining in racing is very good.... then buy a picco
thank you !
This has to be the best motor for the price. I got 6 gallons out of it.
get a traxxas 3.3 motor so wild like u wouldent believe
Well my motor lasted 2 hard guarts, ran like a champ while it ran, went out to my friends track, in a rush to tear the track up, and did not check over post run maintenance, zip tie wasn't on correctly from previous cleaning of air filter. took some triples and doubles , then engine sounded funny, and then just shut off, sleeve and pistons scratched all up, no compression, also in the crank shaft cleaned puddle of fuel and dirt, mud out of the crank shaft, great running engine lots of low end alright mid not any top end really, planning on rebuildind asap -//- Update, Well So far so good, run in went well, holds a tune really well, starts right up after second or third pull, lot of power down low, top is isn't great but it is decent. Makes my truggy won't to wheelie or bumpy terrain or uphill!!! Engine really did surprise and passed some of my expectations, give this engine a try, it seems to me to be reliable, decent power, and worth every penny. Don't take my word for it have to try for yourself. -//- Read alot about engine before I bought it, some good some bad, so tried it for myself. Engine started right up second pull, had too lean out lsn and hsn needles a little, to get it up to temp, wrap head in foil for the first two or three heat cycles so I could run a richer needle setting and get it up to temp, temps were steady entire run in( between 190 and never got over 215) had no problem with pull start, if you broke the pull start then you do not know really what you are doing. also didn't have to preheat to turn over, but made sure I did pull as if I was lifting weights and break the pull start. still not fully run in but showing good power. All I have to say is don't knock anything to you try it, idles all day, carb tunes easy also.
I have two of these engines. We use them for play and for practice laps at the local tracks. They are easy to tune and will run with just about any pipe you put on them. In my opinion they are very good motors for the money. One of the motors has six hard gallons through it and the other isn't far behind and they are both still running good. Excellent value for the $$$.
This engine is a BEAST! Break in was a little tricky. I opened up the high speed needle 2 turns from closed and wrapped up the head and used the Ed Bridges heat cycle method. Tuning was a "cake walk". Dropped it in my Eight T Roller and thing screams like a bat outta hell!
If you race on a short and/or technical track, I highly recommend the 12T clutch bell. She'll move out with incredible difference than the included 13T bell. Hands down,a" must have "engine! you get a lot more than what you pay for. Hats off to Axial.
I can't believe this engine only costs $109. It is awesome and holds a tune real well. Using one for my Savage and am going to get another for my new Savage. Don't hesitate to buy...........
