This is an optional Team Losi Racing Electric Clutch System, for use with electric 8IGHT platforms. The 8IGHT-E Clutch system provides instant power while increasing traction and decreasing the load on the drive-train. The slip system of the clutch allows improved throttle modulation on bumpy tracks as it will slip under a heavy or abrupt load allowing the vehicle to remain stable. The clutch system also allows for full brake usage without the need for mechanical brakes due to the preloaded clutch shoes. The 8IGHT-E clutch system is a direct fit on the 8IGHT-E 2.0, 8IGHT-E 3.0 and 8IGHT-E T 3.0.

Features:

  • Converts electric 1/8-scale buggies and trucks to a nitro-style clutch system
  • Provides smoother throttle response, especially on bumpy tracks
  • Direct fit on the 8IGHT-E 2.0, 8IGHT-E 3.0 and 8IGHT-E T 3.0

Needed To Complete:

  • TLR Clutchbell

Tried this in in my 8ight 4.0. It works as advertised. It boils down to personal preference but if you are looking to get a nitro feel out of your e-buggy I suppose this is as close as you're going to get. It does smooth out the throttle response, but you can do that with a good radio / ESC. It also reduces your ability to fine tune your brakes. I pulled it out after a couple hours. Not for me.

I have been using this product for over a year now, with the 8IGHT Buggy 3.0 and 4.0. I would say that you will need to play around with the springs, and bearings to get the right feel for your driving. I would suggest using steel encased bearings. Don't use the factory washer for the bell, use an M3 flat washer, so that you will only spin on the center of the bearing.
