Hakko FA-400 Smoke Absorber
I did not buy mine from amain. This works as advertised at absorbing smoke from anything non-metal that's at soldering temperatures (usually flux in the core of the solder, but also melted insulation, impurities, skin oil, etc.) Some solder fluxes smell worse than others, and some can irritate the lungs - which is why I bought mine.
The filter is not magic - you have to be close enough for the filter to be effective, usually 3-4 inches. There are a couple of mounting points (covered by blue stickers) that can be used to mount this filter _above_ your workarea which would probably catch everything. I haven't been ambitious enough to try that out yet.
The fan isn't quiet - it's easily 70 dB in volume, which is about as loud as a conversation, and is my only complaint.
