The Traxxas TRX-6 1/10 6x6 Trail Crawler Truck with Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG Body and included TQi 2.4GHz Radio have been brought together to create an aggressive, adaptable and unique all-terrain vehicle. Traxxas has mastered the bold style and no-compromise approach of the Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6x6 with an officially licensed detailed scale replica built on the new TRX-6 platform. This brawny-yet-brainy off-road model features six drive wheels, three T-Lock remote-locking differentials, portal axles, high/low transmission, six aluminum long-travel shocks, and a true-to-scale body with brilliant LED lighting already equipped and ready to light up the trails.
- SUPERIOR 6x6 DESIGN: A fully independent intermediate axle puts an extra set of driving wheels where you need them most to power over obstacles that would otherwise be impossible. 6-wheel drive also allows greater traction to attack steeper inclines and more grip over loose and rocky surfaces.
- EXCEPTIONAL BODY DETAIL: The TRX-6 Mercedes-Benz G 63 AMG 6x6 faithfully reproduces one of the most exclusive and recognizable all-terrain vehicles ever created. Chrome accents, molded trim, and finely detailed lighting elements highlight the rich metallic paint. Traxxas’ uncompromising attention to detail elevates the TRX-6 to the ultimate expression of beauty and brawn.
- FACTORY-EQUIPPED LED LIGHTING: Rugged and fully-waterproof, the preinstalled LED lighting blazes a path through the darkest night. Accurate scale details abound in the finely crafted headlights, taillights, and side marker lights. Even the roof visor is fitted with brilliant LED lighting. A dedicated power supply regulates the voltage for bright, consistent, and efficient lighting.
- INNOVATION: The TRX-6 defies physics with radically innovative technology combined with precision engineering to create a completely new breed of scale crawler.
- RADICAL CHASSIS DESIGN: The TRX-6 chassis obliterates the status quo with a unique extended wheelbase design and six drive wheels for unrivaled traction and extreme capability. Climb higher and drive harder with a revolutionary chassis that looks as good as it performs.

So I have a couple TRX-4's and always found something that I didn't quite like or they just didn't perform as well out of the box to my satisfaction, so they got some upgrades and body changes.
This however, holy hell is it not only a fantastic body, but that additional length and extra axle make it my first rc I don't want to tinker on. In fact the only regret is why didn't I buy two? One for the planned parking lot crawler and boat/trailer hauling. The other for the hill, a little bit of running and I am fascinated with watching it eat up the obstacles that my other rigs struggle with, not just TRX-4's but Gen8, Element Enduro, SCX10II, Vaterra Ascender, MST CFX/W, HPI Venture..
Now I am sure that on down the road I will be having to replace servo's, motor/esc, maybe radio, but they will be upgrades and can only imagine how much better this will perform.
If I was to recommend that you could only have one rig from the TRX-4 family, this is it!
Now someone please make an interior for this, it greatly deserves one.
Fantastic job Traxxas, one heck of a way to end the year for the trail/crawl community.
My only complaint...you get a plastic servo horn, not a huge deal but at this price come on Traxxas!
Downsides are the same for every rtr... weak electronics. This thing has horrible electronics. How Traxxas decided to put a 1amp rated esc bec to power the steering servo in a 9lbs, really 10, 6 wheel drive truck is beyond me. The brushed motor is alright, fairly meh, but does nearly everything well. It has terrible drag brakes, which is everything for rockcrawling. The esc isn’t capable of feeding the brushed motor and because of the weight and extra drivetrain drag runs about 2mph slower than the identically geared trx4.
Other downsides is the body and servo. They didn’t give it separate bumpers and genders like the defender. The bumpers are molded into the removable body and are bolstered by a skid plate/bumper support beam. For serious wheeling the body needs to be cut in these areas and that’s a shame. Also the steering is unusable under load at a standstill. Not a big deal, but it takes getting use too.
Pluses... 6x6, triple lockers, wide two speed (for brushed but not tall enough for brushless), gorgeous lights, and extreme capability. This thing will literally climb a tree until it gets nearly vertical. With a new servo and brushless system this thing is a basher that can keep up with comp crawlers.
Just wish they had more supported parts.
I’d love to see a vxl version for $800 out of the box with at least 4amp bec to power stronger servos.
Pros:
6x6
Portals
Lockers
2 speed tranny
Cons:
Servo horn was bad from the factory - it had no splines- not no splines remaining, just no splines. Threw on an aluminum axial horn and good-to-go.
The plastic track bar mount snapped off while driving down the street in the snow - no bumps or curbs - just immediate loss of control - it is part of the shock mount assembly, so, aluminum front shock mounts and track bar mounts are on the way. I ordered the parts for a TRX4 (aluminum TRX6 parts still seem to be a bit scarce)- should work like a champ.
It qas to get my trx 6
Hopefully I can return it.
